ABOUT "THE BLUE TRACK"

The Fearnley Dawes Athletic Track is the name of Newcastle Athletic Centre and is located between Smith St and National Park St in Newcastle West. This name honours Kurt Fearnley and Christie & Andrew Dawes. The venue has been the long-time home for athletics in Newcastle and the Hunter.  Fearnley Dawes Athletics Track is commonly called the 'Blue Track' due to the colour of the running surface.
